DIY {Dollar Tree} Valentine's Wreath

I literally own zero Valentine's decorations. None. Zilch. Nada.
So, when I saw this, I decided that I had to make it. Or something similar to it.

I bought all of my supplies and decided not to look at that tutorial until after I was done. That way, mine would turn out differently than the one that sparked the idea. I knew if I looked at her's I would want to copy it exactly because it is so cute.

All supplies, minus the spray adhesive and "Shaved Ice", are from Dollar Tree!

You will need:
Hot glue gun, and glue.
A wreath form. You choose the size! I would recommend getting a light colored one just because it is more easily hidden, but if you already have a darker one that would work too.

Heart Picks. There are red ones and pink ones, sparkly ones, and felt ones. I used a combination of all of the above. Total I used around 6 packages of these.

White loofah's. I used 3, but depending on the size of your wreath you could use more or less.

Spray adhesive. I got this from Hobby Lobby.

"Shaved Ice". Also from Hobby Lobby. This is definitely optional, I actually liked the wreath without it better I think!

What to do:

 1. Cut the ties in the middle of the loofah to unravel it and, using your hot glue gun, glue the loofah fabric around the wreath form. Bunch it up so that it hides the wreath. I ended up double layering loofah fabric on top of loofah fabric in order to completely hide the wreath. Once you have it glued you can go back and glue down places that look too fluffy or are out of place.

2. Start adding your hearts! {The wooden stick part easily pulls out of the heart if you just wiggle and pull.} There was no organization to the way I did this. I just evenly spaced them out and glued them on.

3. Once you have all of the hearts glued on that you want, spray with glue adhesive and sprinkle on the shaved ice evenly. {Do this outside!}

That's it! Ready to go on your door!

Total Project Cost = Around $25
If you already own spray adhesive that will cut the cost in half. The spray adhesive I found was $12!
I think I like the original a little better than my version, but I like mine too! I'll consider my first wreath making a success! : )

Do you put up Valentine's decorations?

Nothing Bundt Cakes

In this post, I said "more on this later..." about Nothing Bundt Cakes.
 So, here is the more.

Basically, I just wanted to tell you guys how delicious Nothing Bundt Cakes is!  And, show you some pictures to prove it.

They have several flavors, but Garrett and I went with Red Velvet. How can you go wrong with that? They also had samples of the White Chocolate Raspberry out, so we grabbed one each of those too. I'm not a white chocolate or raspberry fan, but it was so moist and sweet, even I liked it. Basically, what I am tryin' to tell ya is, if there is one close to where you live....go! {You can find the locations here.}

Tempted now?

We got the "Bundtlet" and it was the perfect size for both of us to have a couple pieces a piece. It was  around $7 I think, which isn't too bad.

Ok, I am done bragging about how good this place is. Thanks for listening! : )

Thank you guys for the birthday wishes on yesterday's post! They made my day!

Early Birthday Weekend

I will be 26 this Tuesday. 26!

Honestly, I haven't been very excited for this birthday. 26 seems old, there are things I wanted to have done by now that aren't done, and it's closer to 30. So, when Garrett started asking me awhile back what I wanted to do to celebrate, I couldn't think of anything.

We decided that we were going to celebrate this last weekend since we both work on Tuesday.  Finally, Thursday night I told Garrett what I might want to do. We usually take a small weekend trip but I wasn't feeling spending the money to go anywhere for the whole weekend.

Instead we stayed one night in downtown Denver on the 16th Street Mall. We have been there quite a bit but have never stayed, so I thought it would be fun. It was!

Friday we went on a hike and on the way home spotted several places we had been wanting to try. First was Del Taco, then Nothing Bundt Cakes, and then we stopped to get Krispy Kreme. I can explain:

1. I was hoping Del Taco would be similar to Taco Bueno, which is a Texas thing, it was good but not as good as Bueno.

2. I had spotted Nothing Bundt Cakes before and wanted to try it, so we took this opportunity to give it a try. It was GOOD! More on it later..

3. We had no idea there was a Krispy Kreme in the state of Colorado, and it's a long way from home, and it was my birthday weekend, so we bought some.

Those reasons are good enough right?

Saturday we woke up, got ready, and headed downtown for the night.
We took the light rail so we didn't have to pay to park at the hotel.

I take alot of random pictures. This is one of them. See that clown wig? That was a lady's bike helmet!

We checked in to our hotel and headed to Yard House. Yard House is a bar/restaurant that specializes in having unique beer. We ordered chicken strips for an appetizer and Garrett had a beer.

After appetizers, we split up and I went to H&M and Forever 21. Garrett hung out at Barnes & Noble and a cigar shop. I am sad to report that neither H&M nor Forever 21 had many things that I was interested in. That never happens!

We had dinner and drinks at Hard Rock Cafe, took our leftovers back to the hotel, and went to a movie. We watched Mama, it was jumpy scary, but pretty silly. I am a big horror movie fan, so I liked it a little more than Garrett did.

I had a burger and Garrett had more chicken strips. Both were yummy!

After the movie we went to Cheesecake Factory for dessert. I had been wanting to try the Cookie Dough Cheesecake so bad, but they were out. We got Adam's Peanut Butter Fudge Ripple and it was good!

After dessert we went back to the hotel and watched...wrestling. I have no idea why. Neither of us even like wrestling. I had no idea that every bit of it was fake, so I watched in amazement as Garrett explained that it is all an act.

The view from our room:

Sunday, after lunch, we headed home. It was a fun, relaxing, low-key weekend.

*Thanks babe for getting the hotel, going from restaurant to restaurant with me, letting me spend some time at H&M and Forever 21, and being a great sport about it all. I love you!*

The Facts of Me

Fact- Sometimes I have a strong urge to blog, but I really have nothing important to talk about. Like, now!

Fact- I love animals. Alot. Always have, always will. We are ready for the day to come that we can get a puppy, and we already have two cats.

Fact- My best friend lives in Texas, and I live in Colorado. She's the only person that I regularly talk on the phone with, and I love it!
She blogs here. Check her out!

Fact- I'm tall. If you don't believe me, look at the above picture! I'm 5'11. (Just like Taylor Swift!)

Fact- My birthday is Tuesday. I will be 26. I'm not really that excited about that fact and haven't even figured out what I want to do yet.

Fact- I have been to Italy 3 times. One of those times Garrett and I studied abroad together there. I would love to live there again. I miss it!

Fact- Garrett and I had a destination wedding on the beach in Mexico. It was beautiful and a fun time with our family, but if I were to do it again I think I would choose a regular wedding. I feel like I missed out on some things that are important.

Fact- Getting dressed can make me angry in a matter of a couple of seconds. It's because I have gained weight and don't feel comfortable in most things I have. It's really frustrating and Garrett get's afraid to say anything to me when this happens because he has learned the hard way that I won't be nice.

Fact- I'm messy. Mainly with clothing and hair/skin/beauty products. Our bathroom counter top is barely visible because of all the products I have sitting on top. That's better than being nasty messy right? Like having a week old piece of pizza laying in the bed with me? Atleast you don't have to deal with that babe!

Fact- We moved to Denver almost 3 years ago and I still haven't gotten Colorado license plates or a Colorado drivers license. Hopefully no one is reading this that will give me a ticket for it.

Fact- Since we are on the subject, I still haven't gotten my name legally changed since I have been married either. I know, that's bad.  To be fair, we moved to Colorado right after our wedding and weren't sure how long we would be here once Garrett was done with school. Now, I have no excuse.

Fact- I am going to go make this right now:

Thanks for reading all of these random things that came to my mind!
I hope you all had a great Thursday!

Oh! Go here to enter into our great giveaway! 5 prizes! And they are good ones, too! : )

Puppies, Puppies, Puppies!

I want a puppy.
Big time!

The weather has been so nice this past week, which made me feel like taking trips to the park, and every time I go I leave with an empty feeling. That empty feeling is due to me being puppyless. I just know it!

So, to deal with my puppy fever for the time being, I have started looking at pictures of puppies, and thinking about what kind of puppy I might want. These are my top 5 so far:

Labradoodle/Goldendoodle

Corgi

Sheltie

Bernese Mountain Dog

And last, but certainly not least, a Samoyed. I think this is my personal favorite. I think!

Images from Google Images.

I wish I could have 1 of each. Or even just 1 at all!

Have any of you owned any of these types of dogs? I would love to know more about them, like their personalities, problems, etc.
If not, which one has your vote for cutest?

Don't forget to enter our giveaway! There are 5 great prizes, all to 1 winner!

New Blog Design and a GIVEAWAY!!

Hi y'all!

I finally grew super tired of my blog design and begged my husband to help me design a new one. Ok, I didn't really have to beg, he was pretty open to helping me out thank goodness. Otherwise, I would have found someone good and paid them to do it, because I am pretty close to being computer illiterate!

We sat at the computer for 2 straight days and I told him what I wanted and he designed everything. Basically, he did all of the work! And I LOVE how it turned out, it's exactly what I wanted!
A HUGE thank you to my wonderful, creative, and talented hubby!

Since I now have a new blog design, I wanted to celebrate it with a fun giveaway! I asked a couple of my favorite blogger friends if they would want to participate and to my surprise, several of them wanted to! I am so excited about my first giveaway!

So, no more waiting! Here are the prizes!

Lauren Conrad earrings from Keeping Up with the Cyperts!

$20 E-gift card to Starbucks from Frugalista Married!

$25 iTunes gift card from Heavens to Meighan!

Free ad space at My Darling Days!

$25 to Target from Life. Love and Marriage!

How do I enter you ask?
Make sure to follow the 5 main giveaway hosts! That's the only "rule"!
(You have to actually go to that blogger's page and click "follow", not just the +2 below. That used to confuse me!)
