October 29th is a great day.
It marks the day that Garrett and I become the same age each year and he can no longer tease me for being 25 when he is 24. It's also a great day just for the fact that it is Garrett's birthday.
Saturday night we went out for drinks at a local brewery then to his birthday dinner at Outback Steakhouse. Our dinner was delicious, our waiter looked like Michael C. Hall from Dexter, and we got a free Chocolate Thunder from Down Under brownie.
Sunday night we went to the Broncos Vs. Saints game. It was awesome! The Saints, Garrett's team, ended up losing but we still had fun. I wish we could get season tickets! We both play fantasy football and it was cool seeing some of our players actually playing.
Ps. This week I played Garrett in fantasy football and I won! I'm #1 in our league! : )
Sorry about the blurry pictures, we were kind of far away.
Drew Brees!
I wore two shirts to keep warm, a Broncos one with a Saints one over it. G wouldn't have allowed it the other way around. Oh, and we all got pink pom poms!
Jumpers landed onto the field way too fast and were fun to watch.
Jack Ingram sang the Star Spangled Banner which was weird because we both grew up listening to him. He is a Texas country singer. Very random!
Sunday after the game we went to Challengers, a local bar and grill that has the BEST pizza!
Shout out to my blogging friend Faith for talking about Blue Hawaiin's!! Because of you, I ordered one and LOVED it! Definitely my new favorite drink!
On Monday, Garrett's actual birthday, we did nothing exciting. We had dinner at Jason's Deli and I baked a buttermilk pie for G. We were lazy and it was great!
I hope you guys had great weekends! Can't wait to catch up on your blogs! : )
Happy belated birthday G!! Looks like such a great birthday weekend! That pizza....I drool big time over here. I had a feeling you made Garrett a buttermilk pie...you're such a good wifey! Love you guys!
ReplyDeleteUgh Brit, don't get me started on that stupid pie! For some reason it was runny! I've made this same recipe tons of times and of course the day I make it for G's bday it turns out runny! Of course G was like, "I still love it! It's good!" Lol thank goodness for sweet hubby's!
Deletelooks like a great weekend! and yum!!! i want that pizza and drink!
ReplyDeletelooks like you both had a blast on his birthday :) My husband and I are a few months apart too so we're always 'racing' each other to be the same age haha! Looks like that was such a fun game! Very exciting

Thanks for the hair compliment! I wish it was quick and easy for me to get it looking like that!
DeleteI NEVER get to be younger then my hubby 'cause we are 4 years apart. I'm the older woman! Looks like a great Birthday weekend. I LOVE that Outback dessert!
ReplyDeleteWell MJ found himself a beautiful older woman! : ) And I love that dessert too, it was the first time we had had it in forever and I was impressed!
DeleteWhat an awesome birthday!! My husband would be all over that beer sample - he loves a good brewery!! And that dessert - amazing!! It's breakfast time and now want to make brownies! ;) How great you beat him in your league - I admire your football smarts...every week I ask Steve what's happening on the screen and why he gets so happy or angry when a player gets pulled out! Lol! Glad your Mr. (and you) had a wonderful time celebrating!
ReplyDeleteHappy November, Whitney!!
P.S. - your hair is gorgeous!! Xoxox

My hubby loves a good brewery too, I on the other hand do not like beer at all! Until I started playing fantasy football I knew nothing about football, I used to hate it. Thanks for your sweet words and for the hair compliment! : )
