This Weekend

This weekend...

{Disclaimer: You may have already seen some of these pictures on Instagram if you follow me there. Sorry. If you don't and you wanna: whitneycypert is the name.}

I saw Lady Antebellum with my friend Julie. Ok, technically it was Thursday but everyone knows that's the start of the weekend. It was fun and I developed a new crush on Charles. He's the bottom left. Cute huh?

I ate at Dave & Buster's for the first time.

Even though these pictures may beg to differ, the food wasn't very good, our service sucked, and it was overpriced. I don't want to go there again. We did, however, have some tasty chocolate cake that we I stole from a birthday party there. Hey, they forgot their to-go box, we didn't steal it in front of the kid. Yes, stealing a person's to-go box when it is filled with untouched chocolate cake is acceptable.

We finally saw The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug. I used to think that the Lord of the Rings wasn't my thing but I guess that has changed because I really liked both of the hobbit movies. They may be 3 hours long but they are action packed so there's no way you can become bored.

I watched one of Taylor's best award show performances ever on the Grammy's Sunday night. All Too Well is probably my favorite song from Red and she killed it. Plus, how gorgeous does she look!?

I learned that people are going to hate on that girl no matter what she does. Forget Miley humping teddy bears and foam fingers, when Taylor headbangs during a performance or dances at an awards show people go crazy. My Twitter feed looked like this at one point:

I watched as Daft Punk robbed Taylor of the Grammy for Album of the Year. I know, I'm incredibly biased, but Red deserved that award.

And last but certainly not least, I FINALLY got my Colorado driver's license!! Oh. You guys. You have no Earthly idea how much of a hassle it was for this to happen. Garrett and I went to the DMV 4 times before the idiots working there could all agree that I had the correct documentation. I'm not just being mean either. We were told so many things from so many different people it was insane. But, none of that matters because I am now an official Colorado driver! : )

I swear I have teeth...

I hope you had a great weekend! Now to get this silly week out of the way!

The Post About Nothing

I'm going to warn you right now...this post is like Seinfeld...about nothing.
I just want to write. I want to say hello. But, I have nothing for ya.

I can't tell you how many times I open up Blogger, go to the Post Blog tab, sit here with an empty post and then click out of it. Does anyone else do that? I just have this need inside of me to write about something, anything, but then my mind goes extra blank and I click out of it.

Not today I say!
Today I am actually typing something in this space! Yes, it may be about nothing, but my fingers are moving and words are appearing in front of me. Success! Now if I only had some sort of topic or material...

I know! Yesterday I went to Nordstrom Rack and came home with these babies:

Nordstrom Rack has the best selection of shoes I swear. I never leave there without a pair. It's a dangerous place. They also have really cute purses. I found a Kate Spade bag and a Michael Kors one I'd love to have. The MK one was still over $600 AFTER the discount. Ridiculous.

Speaking of bags...

I want that one.
I went a long time without looking it up to see how much it costs because I figured it was something like $1200 and there was no point in even worrying about it. However, my birthday is coming up and Garrett keeps asking what I want, so I gave in and looked up the price. I was wrong. Take a guess at how much you think this little gem costs!

And while I have you looking at it, how classy does she look? LOVE that outfit!

Last but not least in this random, about nothing post, can we please all drool over this together? That my friends is the S'mores cheesecake from Cheesecake Factory. Heaven on Earth.

In case anyone tried to guess how much that purse is...

Dolce & Gabbanna handbag going for a whopping... $2,295. Insert sad face here.

But just look at it!
Ok, since we can't afford that bag, Garrett and I are off to a fancy dinner at Texas Roadhouse!
Goodnight y'all!

Christmas in Denver (Part 2)

Oh hey!
Yeah. Still talking about Christmas over here.

Christmas morning we woke up, set everyone's stocking's out and got busy getting lunch ready. I don't know about y'all, but Thanksgiving and Christmas day are the two days out of the year where we eat good. Turkey, ham, dressing, mac and cheese, mashed potatoes, rolls, and for mom...cranberry sauce! : )

I couldn't wait to open my stocking, so in the middle of getting lunch ready we opened them. Stockings are the best! There's just something about sticking your hand in a huge sock not knowing what you will pull out. It's the mystery I tell ya!

*Disclaimer: Yes, I realize that these pictures are cheesy and that most of you probably don't care to see a billion pictures of us opening gifts/stockings/eating Christmas lunch...but my 80 year old self will and that's what this is all about!

After everyone's stockings were empty there was one big gift covered with my Taylor Swift blanket left. It was the one I had been dying to see too.
Y'all...Garrett made this for me!

Oh. My. Goodness. It has my SIGNED shirt in it that I wore when I met her, our ticket stubs, my Club Red bracelet, signed album covers, the Red Tour book, my Club Red pass, the note Garrett wrote me last Christmas telling me I was going to her concert in Denver VIP style, and confetti that fell from the sky during the last song of the concert. He saved some!
I couldn't quit looking at it.

Then I saw what the caption said.
My favorite all time song by Taylor is called "Long Live" and it starts out saying "I said remember this moment, in the back of my mind...". The caption he had put on there says:
"Remember This Moment"
Taylor Swift The Red Tour
2013

How perfect is that? I was bent over looking at it, getting all teary eyed, trying to talk myself out of crying in front of everyone, but I couldn't do it. I cried, and inside I wanted to cry harder, but I kept it in check. It's PERFECT!

And then it was lunch time!

That night we went to Blossoms of Light at the Denver Botanic Gardens. It was COLD but so pretty!

My family left the next morning and I was NOT ready for them to go! It's just so much more fun when everyone is together. Especially when one of them has an adorable baby belly. I hate missing out on my sister's stomach growing and all the things that come along with it. I almost wanted to get in the car and go with them.

The next day Garrett and I both had to work and his family got in that night. It was a nice feeling knowing that we had more family in town for the weekend. We had a great time with them as well and didn't want them to leave either. I hate saying goodbye to family!

Our Christmas this year was wonderful and we can't wait to spend time with our families again soon! Maybe one of these days we will be talked to moving back to Texas.

Christmas in Denver (Part 1)

Yeah, it's past New Year's Day and I am just now writing about Christmas. I'm late.
But, like they say, late is better than never!

Christmas was GREAT this year. Garrett and I got lucky and had both families visit us in Denver since we were not able to go home. My family was here for 4 nights that went by incredibly too fast.

The night they arrived we had homemade chili for dinner and sat around visiting for a couple of hours. I was so excited to see them and especially to see how much my sister's baby bump had grown!

The next day we messed around in the Cherry Creek area, one of my favorites, before I had to go to a stupid doctor's appointment. More on that later. That evening we had dinner at Cherry Cricket, one of mine and Garrett's favorite places to eat in Denver. They have the best burgers and fried mac & cheese! Tip: try peanut butter on your burger next time, it is SO good! : )

The next day was Christmas Eve! The girls spent the day shopping at the outlets while the boy's went to Cabella's and a liquor store. Does that sound typical or what? We all had lunch together and us girls went to do a little more shopping while they headed home.

When we got home, they were playing Cards Against Humanity.
My dad won.

Everyone but me was ready to open presents, especially Garrett, and they ended up talking me into opening them that night. I like to save presents as long as possible, because that's the best part!

That night we cooked the pies, and the breads for the dressing, for Christmas lunch. We also watched Home Alone. That movie never gets old!

After my family went to their hotel, Garrett hooked up his new PS3 and I cooked another pie. We were exhausted but too excited about our new gifts, and about getting Christmas lunch ready, to sleep. Putting that turkey in the oven at 7:30am the next morning was rough.
