Garrett's Graduation/Family Visit

Siggy,

I am so very proud of you! You worked your butt off for two years and have your MBA to show for it! I know it has been stressful as far as job hunting goes, but you will find one that is right for you. You've just gotta hang in there. You are smart, funny, sweet, adorable, cute, and just a great person in general. I guess I am biased, but oh well! I know there are big things ahead of us because of you and I thank you for that! I love love you so much! Muah! : )

To our families,

Thank you all for everything that weekend! We know it wasn't an easy drive, or a cheap stay, and we are very thankful for everything. We had fun and miss you already. We love you!

Michael's Visit

Our college friend Michael came to visit us again a couple of weeks ago.

Fun fact:
He has been to see us more than anyone else since we have lived in Denver. That means he loves us! : )

We had tons of fun doing seemingly nothing. We watched the complete first season of Dexter, played an It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia board game, spent some time at the pool, cooked out, and went to the aquarium. It was a lazy good time.

We went to Freshcraft, a place with rare beer on tap. The boys had beer and I had this:

We spent some time at the pool.

Due to the board game, Garrett had to wear his boxers outside of his shorts and Michael had to hold a sock in between his teeth.

Michael, I swear, next time you come we will atleast go on a hike or something! Well, depending on the heat, you know how I hate the heat!
We had fun and can't wait until you visit again!

Cocoa Pebbles, Peanut Butter, and Candy Brownies

Originally, here, these brownies were called Better Than Crack Brownies. Seeing as I have never tried crack I wouldn't know, but I'm pretty sure that they probably are.

These brownies are so good! Chocolate AND peanut butter? Smooth AND crunchy? They are the perfect combination of all things yummy.

What you will need:

1 Box Brownies for a 13x9 Pan (any brand or homemade)
1/2 Cup Chopped Butterfingers
1 Cup Chopped Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
3/4 Cup Milk Chocolate Chips
3/4 Cup Butterscotch Chips
1 1/2 Cups Creamy Peanut Butter
1 1/2 Cups Cocoa Pebbles Cereal

What to do:

Make brownies according to directions on box. Bake 20-22 minutes so that they are slightly under baked.

Remove from oven and sprinkle chopped Butterfinger and Reese's on top and bake 4-6 more minutes.

While they finish baking melt chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, peanut butter together until smooth. Remove brownies from oven and pour the melted mixture over the top. Smooth with a spatula and refrigerate for 2 hours before serving.

Enjoy!

Texas Trip Documented by a Real Camera

Remember this post?
Well, these are the real pictures from the trip. Not the ones from a measly cell phone.

Yates, Garrett's little brother, had no clue that we were coming to Texas for his graduation. I mean, he was absolutely clueless. He was blind sided. He was shocked. Surprised. Ok, I think he may have had a tiny clue that we may have been there.

Brett waiting in the window for Yates to come home. He was late.

Garrett started playing the drums upstairs in Yates' room when he walked into the house. He came upstairs and was so excited to see his big brother! And me too, right Yates? Right?

 Blurry but happy.

The next night we played washers at the Cypert's house. It was fun but I sucked. Big time.

Yates opening his graduation gift from my parents. Texas Rangers tickets.

Garrett's dad, his Mama C, my dad, and mom at Yates' graduation.

Me and Yaterbug.

HAHAHAHAHAHA

Mom and Dad took us to a Texas Rangers game. Hot but fun.

This weekend my family and Garrett's family are here for Garrett's graduation. Our college friend Michael was here for the first part of the week too.  It's been a ton of family/friends time and it was much needed!

Texas Trip Documented by an iPhone

Last week Garrett and I went home to Texas for Garrett's little brother, Yates', high school graduation.
It. Was. Hot.
And it was fun and great to see family and friends. We had a great time and here are some pictures to prove it!

The Sweetwater, Texas forecast compared to Aurora, Colorado where we live. HUGE difference. Told ya it was hot!

Finally started and finished this book. It was so good! Now it's time to see the movie! I know, I am way behind.

Mom and I had lunch and I ordered this piece of chocolate pie for dessert. It was huge and it was delicious. I finished it all.

Since apparently there is no such thing as a snow cone in Denver, I tried to stock up on them at home. I ended up only having two, but boy were they delicious. Ice cream with cream is the BEST flavor! Next is pickle juice. Don't wrinkle up your nose! They are yummy! : )

Not the best picture in the world, but I got to see my two best friends and little Kamdon. I miss these folks alot!

I got to sit by Kamdon at dinner. I want to steal him!

I learned a new braid for my hair for graduation. I'm awful with hair y'all, so I was very proud of myself.
Cue awkward picture.

And mom and dad took us to a Texas Rangers game! I may have complained about the heat just a tiny bit. But I had fun.

My new Kinsler t-shirt. That boy has got it going on.

More pictures to come later!

Hope you are all having a good start to your weekend! Our good friend Michael is here for the week and we are about to grill out and get some drinks and board games going. Garrett bought me cake flavored Vodka! Say what!? I'll let you know how that is!
