Hi sweet friends!
How were your weekends?
I hope you all had great weekends, I can't wait to catch up on them!
This weekend Garrett and I had a fair mixture of laziness and activeness. To me, those are the best weekends. You know, when you don't feel too lazy but you still have time to relax?
Saturday we slept in and then drove West to the Rockies. That is one of my favorite things about living in Denver, drive West 30 minutes and you are in the mountains! The weather was perfect this weekend, so we decided late Friday evening that we wanted to have a much needed Rocky Mountain picnic/hike.
We kept it classy with bologna sandwiches!
After our picnic/hike we drove through Evergreen, CO and stopped at a museum. It was closed, but there were cool things outside of the museum to take pictures of. So I did.
{Thanks babe for being a good sport with all of the pictures I wanted to take!}
When we got home Saturday evening we were pretty much just lazy the rest of the night.
Sunday we went for a walk on the Cherry Creek trail and then played tennis. Y'all. I beat Garrett in tennis!! Yes, I'm rubbing it in, I never win! We grilled burgers and had drinks at home, it was so nice just to be able to spend the weekend together. I really miss him during the week, we don't get much time to spend together.
Oh. Something else important to mention about our weekend. We had the new summer Sonic shakes on both Friday and Saturday. They are good! My favorite's so far are the Coconut Cream Pie and the Peanut Butter Fudge. YUM! Try one if you haven't!
I hope your weeks are off to a great start!
Love the photos, and i haven't had a bologna sandwich in many many years! :)

One of my favorite things to do on a nice day is go for a hike! And oh my gosh I'm so jealous you have a Sonic near you. I used to live next to one and now the closest one is two hours away. Wah!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pictures! You're so lucky to live so close to the mountains!
ReplyDeleteTwo words: your sunglasses. I {heart} them :)
ReplyDeleteSounds like a lovely weekend to me! And those photos of your hike are b-e-a-u-tiful!
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've asked you this already, but I'm trying to put together a "Weekend Update" blog hop and would love for you to host with me! Let me know =)
Oh! And congrats on the tennis match! (I would be bragging to if I ever beat Dave...)
Cheers,
Niquelle

What a fun weekend! Love your pictures! G is def a trooper :)
ReplyDeleteYour sunglasses are so cute!
Sounds like such a great, relaxing weekend!
ReplyDeleteI love hikes/picnics. Beautiful scenery. I haven't had bologna in so long. Probably since Kindergarten-that was THE sandwich to bring for snack back then. Garrett on that horse is hilarious. So something that Mj would do. Glad you had a nice relaxing yet active weekend.
ReplyDeleteWe picnicked this weekend too! Did Garrett bring a glass to pour his beer in on your picnic? Because that is fancy my friend :)
ReplyDeleteYour pictures make me jealous. I have never really been to Colorado. I know someday I would like to visit that area. I think both of us would really like it!
Another wonderful weekend! You are always having so much fun and enjoying each others company!! I know I say it all the time, but it is JUST SO pretty where you live! It's like a vacation every day! :)
ReplyDeleteLove the photos (and your heart sunglasses)!! And the photo of Garrett on the horse! Lol!
Those shakes sound so good...especially the coconut cream pie! Steve suggested we go to Sonic soon! One opened up not too far from us. If it was down the street, I would be there every night!
Hope you're having a great night! Xoxox

I love how you guys didn't even separate the bologna from each other...just a literal stack of bologna! Haha!
ReplyDeleteLol we did that on purpose silly! We separated the slices when we took the red wrap thing off, but I like two pieces and Garrett likes 3. Otherwise it's too much bread!
DeleteWhat a great weekend! I want to go on a picnic now!!! Also, your sunglasses are adorable! :-)
ReplyDeleteHow pretty! Gosh I really need to get out and see more of Colorado.. I'm missing out! Looks like y'all had a blast though. Sonic shakes.. YUM.
ReplyDeleteIt is so gorgeous there! Looks like y'all had a perfect weekend! I am about two weeks behind in blogging (as usual) but I love to click on yours when I get a minute.
